Welcome to The Three Counties Ability Counts League

The Three Counties Ability Counts League (3CACL) exists to provide a safe environment and well managed opportunities for everyone who may have some form of additional needs to take part in the game of football.  The League has a history going back to 2010 when the Football Association first announced that County Leagues should be formed to provide an outlet for players with disabilities.  The counties of Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire did not have the populations that could generate enough teams in each county and as an alternative formed the 3CACL.  In the current season we have a total of 12 teams registered and we play at least 6 tournaments each season.  We run our events at 3 locations (see Locations menu above) , one in each county, and each venue hosts 2 tournaments.

The Three Counties Ability Counts League committee thanks the County FA teams in Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire for all the support they have given us.

We welcome applications from any new disability teams in any of the Three Counties.

Latest information on AGM will be posted in Late August 2022

Tournament Dates for the
2022 – 2023 Season

Message from League Chair

JUNE 2022

The 2021 - 2022 Season has completed and the League competition winners are Aspie Avengers. Congratulations to them! This season saw the first opening of grassroots football following the devastating Covid pandemic lockdowns.  Our competition experienced a major drop in participating teams due largely to great uncertainty about taking part in social mixing and close quarter sporting activities.  Our teams and their players encompass a wide range of disabilities and vulnerabilities, including health issues, and it is entirely understandable that people would be very wary about joining in fully.

Despite these issues we did manage to run a successful League competition over 6 tournaments and at 2 venues, Herefordshire FA new 3G facility at Widemarsh Common, and the 3G at University of Worcester.  We were unable to raise teams from Shropshire at the outset of this season which meant we did not schedule any matches in that county.  Luckily, towards the end of the season we did attract teams from Shropshire that joined our schedule in some friendly games. We hope these teams will take a full part in the next season beginning in September 2022.

Our League AGM is due to be held in August or early September 2022 and we expect to be asking teams to submit an Expression of Interest in joining the competition from July onwards.  Early signs appear to suggest we should reach our normal numbers. We experienced some difficulties towards the end of the season with regard to eligibility of players to take part in our League and we will be introducing some new procedures through our constitution to address the issues.

One of the challenges facing the League next season is the emergence of the new England Football Accreditation scheme.  Having recently been awarded our League Charter Standard we will now be required to introduce the new protocols and procedures given in the new scheme.  This will involve looking at the credentials of all our participating teams/clubs and it is my hope that we can expect the fullest cooperation from everyone in this endeavour.

My sincere thanks to all those who made the 2021 – 2022 season so successful while facing the most challenging times we have ever had.

NEW VOLUNTEERS NEEDED URGENTLY

Your League is facing a major crisis in recruiting new and committed volunteers to run all our management and football delivery posts. Potential volunteers who may wish to take up some of the roles needed to run our League and ensure its future please click this link below and read through our recruitment offer. We promise to make all new volunteers feel welcome and we WILL NOT overload anyone with too much of a drain on their free time. All our roles are relatively low impact and tasks will be evenly shared. In fact, the more volunteers we attract, the easier everyone's job will become.

PLEASE SUPPORT YOUR LEAGUE!
